In the next article we will remember one of the most interesting success stories such as the Gillette brand. The most famous and successful brands in the world have taken certain processes to become a favorite of many people. Such is the case of the world-famous Gillette.
The history of this brand can start counting from 1895 in which its founder King Camp Gillette, who was a person who loved to travel, but I was very careful about her appearance and was very fearful of using public places trains to make his body clean.
This successful entrepreneur working in a factory to bottle caps and that is where the idea of creating products that could be used a few times and then were discarded, is the rising of razors, because back then it was very difficult to get same as it had to edge them constantly. Gillette began producing razors but they found little demand, then founded his company American Safety Razor Company on September 28, 1901, which became Gillette Safety Razor Company in July 1902, which began promoting the use of disposable razors.
Its main market was constituted by the United States Army since the beginning of the second world war, the soldiers had to travel to Europe, so Gillette managed to sign a contract with the army to which each man obtains a Gillette razor with disposable razor blades from the same brand. It helped a lot financially and advertising, as many people started to buy this type of razor.
For use in advertising and sports celebrities of those times, achieved a very large market. Gillette died in 1932 but continued brand and today is one of the most recognised business success.
On October 1, 2005 Gillette company was bought by another large company of personal care products such as Procter & Gamble for 57 billion dollars, it ended the Gillette Company, but the Gillette brand remained alive, stronger now producing new forms of razors as their famous Match 3 which is known worldwide and is perhaps the best selling of all time.
With the merger of Gillette the company grew and many products are now marketed Gillette brand such as deodorants, lotions, soaps, along with other brands of Procter & Gamble, as Duracell, Braun, Oral-B.
