Outsourcing and Off shoring

The era of globalisation has radically changed the market and how it has traditionally worked. The Anglo-Saxon terms outsourcing and offshoring have spent almost a part of our vocabulary, but, although often we heard of them do we really know what they mean by these concepts?

When we talk about outsourcing we are referring to outsourcing, the process through which companies outsource to other firms or freelance workers to carry out some services for them.

For example, some companies delegate the accounting to other companies or seek an external translator only for certain specific projects.

And thanks to new technologies, all can be done via the Internet allowing collaboration is established with workers who did not even know in person and who may live thousands of miles away. This last is called offshoring, outsourcing of services to be performed with workers located in other countries.

Although the distances are maintained, the Internet has managed to interconnect people from almost all corners of the world, as a result, they can collaborate with each other regardless of the origin of the worker or the place where the contracting company is based. The transnationals work was not part of the future, but this sooner.

The great advantage of outsourcing is essentially economic and that mainly is done with freelancers from countries where labor is cheaper and, hence, cost savings is achieved.

However, besides the economic factor, there are other benefits that make outsourcing and offshoring convenient ways to work for companies.

For example, delegating some work to others, the company can concentrate solely on their core business, do only the tasks you do best, letting other professionals take care of the rest (for example, the design of the website of the company, launching a specific marketing campaign, etc.).

But in addition to companies, outsourcing of services also has advantages for freelance workers and allowing them access to customers around the world and offers them the possibility to have flexible schedules and work from anywhere in the world, other things.

Although this way of working is becoming more popular, outsourcing is usually a practice that only large companies tend to do.

Possibly this is due to the small and medium enterprises are still reluctant to try outsourcing services due to lack of funds or fear of the unknown. However, in recent years have witnessed the birth of numerous digital platforms, outsourcing of services to help SMEs and private individuals acting as intermediaries between contractors and employees and making collaboration without boundaries through a positive and safe Internet for both parties.

In addition, some offering escrow services that enable payments are guaranteed once the job is done successfully and thus eliminate one of the greatest fears of freelancer: the fear of encountering defaulters who do not pay for their services .

In short, thanks to the advancement of telecommunications and outsourcing these new practices, the workplace has become much larger, flexible and accessible. If you have a company, do not need to do it all, but focus on what you know to do best and leave the rest to other professionals.
